One moment
One moment
One place for what happens to what you tell Micah. The plain-language version first, then how to manage your data, then the full Privacy Policy. The Terms are on their own page.
Your conversations are private to your account. Micah sends what’s needed to contracted service providers to generate replies and run the app. We don’t sell your conversations and we don’t use them for advertising.
We don’t sell your conversations or share them for advertising. We disclose only what service providers need to operate Micah on our behalf. No other Micah user can see what you write, and nothing you write is published anywhere.
Running Micah means sending the necessary data to contracted service providers. They act on our instructions, not their own, and are contractually required to protect your data and use it only to provide their service to us.
What people bring to prayer can reveal religious belief, health, grief and relationships. Under GDPR, religious belief is special-category data. So before your first message reaches an AI provider, Micah asks for your explicit consent - on the sign-up page on the web, and as its own sheet in the apps - separately from accepting the Terms. Your answer is recorded with the date and the version of this policy you were shown.
You can withdraw it at any time under You → Privacy. Micah then stops replying until you switch it back on; nothing already stored is affected.
Counting visits is a different question from the one above, and it is answered differently depending on where you are. In the UK, the EEA and Switzerland, nothing non-essential is stored until you say yes to the bar on the page. Everywhere else, including the United States, measurement runs from the first page and the switch below turns it off - that is the opt-out the state privacy laws ask for, and this page is where their “Do not sell or share” link points.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, that is already an answer: measurement is off, you are never shown the bar, and the switch stays off. Micah honours it in every country, not only the ones that require it.
What this covers is anonymous: which pages are opened, which parts of Micah are used, whether an ad led here. Never a message, a check-in, a passage or a prayer. And Micah never turns any of it into advertising identity or personalised advertising - those are denied in the tag for every visitor in every country, and no remarketing audience is ever built from these pages. What a person reads on a Christian companion’s site can imply their religion, which is special-category data under GDPR and sensitive data under most US state laws; it is not something to hand to an ad profile, whatever a consent banner might permit.
Checking this browser…
The switch is remembered on this browser. Signed in, the same choice sits under You and is recorded with the date and the version of this policy. Clearing your cookies clears the answer, and the question starts over.
Micah keeps a short list of things you have said - a person, a situation, a passage that mattered, how you like to be spoken to. Every item is drawn from your own words, shows where it came from, and sits on the You screen where you can edit it or remove it with Forget. Removal is immediate and it doesn’t come back. There is no second profile you don’t get to see.
Nothing from a conversation in which you were in danger is ever kept.
Four things you can do with what Micah holds: see it, take a copy of it, clear part of it, or remove all of it. Each works from micahapp.com, and all but Start fresh from the iPhone and Android apps as well (for that one, sign in on the web for now). Each is done by you, signed in, so that nobody else can do it to your account. If you can’t sign in, email support@applifi.io from your account address and we will verify you another way.
Open You. Every memory item is listed in plain language with its source and date. Forget removes an item immediately; Micah stops carrying it forward and it is not restored. Your name and how Micah speaks to you are edited on the same screen.
Open You → Your words and choose the copy of your data. Every thread, check-in and memory item is prepared as plain text and handed to you on the spot, on any plan. If you need it in another form, or can’t sign in, email support@applifi.io from your account address; we respond within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
Open You → Start fresh and tick what should go: threads and messages, check-ins and readings, sermon recordings and transcripts, or what Micah remembers. Only what you tick is removed - immediately, and it is not restored. Your account, sign-in, plan and preferences stay exactly as they were, and you can carry on with Micah straight away.
Open You → Delete account, on the web or in the app, read what will go, and confirm by typing delete. You are signed out at once.
What gets deleted: your account and sign-in, every thread and message, every check-in and reading, sermon recordings and transcripts, what Micah remembers, your preferences, your subscription record, and your usage analytics.
When: deleting your account removes your data from active systems immediately. Encrypted backups may persist for up to 90 days before automatic deletion, and are not readable in ordinary operation. Records we are legally required to keep - payment and tax records, and abuse-prevention logs - are held separately from conversation content for the period the law requires; they do not include what you talked to Micah about.
Subscriptions: an Essential subscription bought on the web through Stripe is cancelled when the account is deleted. One bought through Apple or Google is not - the store holds it, so cancel it first (iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Micah; Android: Google Play → Subscriptions → Micah). No refund is given for the remainder of a billing period; refunds for store purchases follow Apple’s and Google’s policies.
Afterwards: deletion cannot be undone and we cannot recover a deleted account. You can create a new account at any time with the same or a different email, but nothing from the old one comes back. If something in Micah isn’t working and that’s why you’re leaving, write to support@applifi.io first - most things can be put right.
Micah is a companion, not a counsellor, and not a crisis service. If you describe harm to yourself or someone else, Micah will say plainly that this needs a person and point you toward local emergency and crisis numbers. It will not attempt to talk you through it alone, and it will not quote Scripture at you instead.
Micah is for adults. It does not offer medical, legal or financial advice, and it won’t claim spiritual authority over your decisions. More on where that line is.

Micah is a Christian companion app operated by Applifi AI (“we”, “our”, or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your information when you use the Micah mobile apps, the website at micahapp.com, and related services (together, the “Service”). By using Micah, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information you provide. Your email address and sign-in details; profile information such as your first name; the messages, voice recordings and sermon recordings you submit; your daily check-ins; subscription and purchase information; and support requests or feedback you send us.
Information collected automatically. Device information (device type, OS version, app version, language); usage data (features used, session duration); crash reports and performance diagnostics; and IP address and approximate location at country or region level. Usage analytics are collected on the legal basis that applies where you are: your consent in the United Kingdom, the EEA and Switzerland, where nothing non-essential is stored until you give it; and our legitimate interest in measuring and improving the service elsewhere, subject to your right to opt out at any time. We honour Global Privacy Control signals in every jurisdiction. We do not grant advertising identity or personalised advertising consent for any user, and we do not sell personal data or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. See Your privacy choices.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Apple, Google or Stripe. We receive your plan, purchase history, renewal dates, the type of payment method and transaction identifiers. We do not store your full payment card details.
We do not use your conversations to train our own models, and we do not use them for advertising or marketing.
Micah’s replies are generated by third-party artificial intelligence services acting as our processors. To generate a reply, the messages you type, the voice recordings you choose to submit, the sermons you record, and the relevant things Micah remembers about you are transmitted securely to those providers (such as OpenAI or Google) solely to produce a response within the app. Recordings are transcribed by a speech service.
These providers act only as data processors, are contractually required to provide data protection and security measures that meet or exceed industry standards, and are contractually prohibited from using your content for advertising, profiling, or training their own models. Data is not retained by them beyond what is necessary to process the request. We do not sell your personal data.
You are asked for explicit consent before any of your content is sent to an AI provider, separately from accepting the Terms, and you can withdraw that consent at any time under You → Privacy.
We share information only with the service providers needed to run Micah: cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud) for hosting and storage; Firebase for sign-in, notifications and crash reporting; Resend for the few emails Micah sends; AI and speech providers to generate and speak replies; analytics services for usage and performance; payment processors (Apple, Google Play, Stripe) for subscriptions; and legal authorities where we are required by law. All service providers are contractually required to protect your data and to act only on our instructions. Each has its own privacy policy governing its handling of data.
We use industry-standard measures: encrypted transmission (HTTPS/TLS); encrypted storage on secure cloud infrastructure; strict authentication and authorisation controls; and continuous monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Micah is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided us data, contact support@applifi.io and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your personal data, to correct it, to delete it, to data portability (a copy in a machine-readable form), to withdraw consent, and to object to certain processing such as analytics. You can exercise most of these yourself from the You screen on the web or in the apps: see and edit what Micah remembers, request a copy of your data, start fresh, switch analytics or AI processing off, and delete your account - see Managing your data. For anything else, or if you can’t sign in, contact support@applifi.io.
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States and other regions where our service providers operate. Where that happens we put appropriate safeguards in place, including GDPR-compliant data processing agreements, standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, and compliance with local data protection laws.
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. Changes are posted on this page with a new “last updated” date, and where a change affects the consent you have given, we will ask again. Continued use of Micah after a change means you accept the updated policy.
