By Wednesday you’ve lost Sunday.
Something lands in the service. You mean to sit with it. The week buries it, and by the time you think of it again you can’t remember the passage he was in. Micah keeps the sermon and brings it back.
Part of Essential. Start free and upgrade when you want it.
- You record the sermon in the app, or upload the audio on the web.
- Micah transcribes it in the background and tells you when it’s done.
- During the week, what you say can draw on it — quoted, and named.
- On Sunday, the letter asks what you’d carry from it.
It quotes your sermon, not a stranger’s
Say on Thursday that you’re struggling to forgive someone. If your pastor preached on exactly that in March, Micah can bring back what he said — the words from your recording, with the sermon’s title next to them.
This is retrieval, the same mechanism that puts a reference under a verse. Micah isn’t remembering an impression of the sermon; it is reading the transcript and showing you which one it came from.
How the rest of the loop worksThe Sunday question
If you recorded something in the past week, the Sunday letter carries one question about it: what you’d want to keep from it, asked once, while it’s still fresh.
Answer it and that answer becomes part of what Micah holds — so the thing that landed on Sunday can come back on a Tuesday, which is the only day it would ever have mattered.
Your recordings stay yours
A recording and its transcript are private to your account. The search that retrieves sermon text will not run without your account attached to it, so no one else’s conversation can reach your recordings, and yours cannot reach theirs.
Recordings and transcripts are listed in the copy of your data you can take at any time, and they go when the account goes.
Privacy & SafetyQuestions
- Do I have to record it myself?
- Either way. In the iPhone or Android app you can record the sermon as you hear it. On the web you upload an audio file — the recording your church already posts works fine.
- Does Micah quote the sermon, or summarise it?
- It quotes. When something you say connects to a recording of yours, Micah pulls the words from that transcript and tells you which sermon they came from, the same way it shows a reference under a verse.
- Can anyone else hear it?
- No. A recording and its transcript belong to your account, and the search that finds them refuses to run without your account attached, so one person's recording cannot surface in a stranger's conversation.
- What if the audio is poor?
- Transcription runs in the background and tells you where it got to: transcribing, transcribed, or couldn't transcribe. When it fails it retries, and you can ask it to try again.
