Terms of Service

1. Agreement to these terms

By accessing or using Micah - the mobile apps, the website at micahapp.com and related services (the “Service”) - provided by Applifi AI (“we”, “our”, or “us”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. What Micah is

Micah is a Christian companion app. It writes to you each morning, remembers what you tell it and shows you what it remembers, follows up on things you said, and quotes Scripture it has retrieved from the text with the reference shown. It generates its replies with artificial intelligence.

Micah is not a pastor, a counsellor, a therapist, a doctor, or a crisis service, and it does not claim spiritual authority. Its replies should not replace pastoral care, professional mental-health support, or medical, legal or financial advice. If you are in danger, contact local emergency services.

3. Your account

You need an account to use Micah. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your sign-in details secure, tell us promptly of any unauthorised access, and take responsibility for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account; if you are under 18, you should have a parent’s or guardian’s consent.

4. Acceptable use

  • Do not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any law
  • Do not harass, abuse or harm others, or submit content intended to do so
  • Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other people’s accounts
  • Do not reverse engineer the Service or attempt to extract its source code or models
  • Do not use the Service to distribute spam or malware
  • Do not impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation

5. Plans, subscriptions and payment

Micah has a Free plan and an Essential plan. Essential is sold as an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, either through the Apple App Store or Google Play (in the apps) or through Stripe (on the web). Prices are shown in your currency before you subscribe.

A subscription renews automatically until cancelled. Cancel a store subscription in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings; cancel a web subscription under You → Plan on micahapp.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep Essential until then. We do not refund partial billing periods; refunds for store purchases are governed by Apple’s and Google’s policies.

Fair use: Essential conversations are unlimited within fair use. We may limit use that is automated, shared between people, or far outside ordinary personal use.

6. Your content and Micah’s replies

What you write, record and upload stays yours. You grant us the licence needed to store and process it to provide the Service to you, as described in the Privacy Policy. Micah’s replies are generated by AI and may be wrong; check anything that matters, including Scripture references, against the text.

7. Intellectual property

The Service and its original content, features and functionality are owned by Applifi AI and protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease any part of the Service without our written permission. Scripture text is reproduced under the terms of the relevant publisher or, for the King James Version, as public domain.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE OR ERROR-FREE. MICAH IS AN AI COMPANION AND IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR PASTORAL CARE, MENTAL-HEALTH SERVICES OR MEDICAL ADVICE.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, APPLIFI AI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

10. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Consent to send your content to AI providers is asked for separately from these Terms, and can be withdrawn under You → Privacy.

11. Termination

You can delete your account at any time under You → Delete account; see what happens then. We may suspend or terminate access for conduct that breaches these Terms or is harmful to other users, to us or to third parties.

12. Changes to these terms

We may modify these Terms. Material changes are announced by updating the “last updated” date and, where appropriate, by a notice in the Service. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Applifi AI operates, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.
